MATERIALS:

  • 7 skeins Beaded Wool in (2) Poppy, Garden, Bittersweet, Lettuce, Sun, Daffodil, Hibiscus,

EQUIPMENT:

  • Size 7 knitting needles
  • Size crochet hook
  • large tapestry needle

GAUGE: 3 1/2st/8rows/in chest size 36” length 30” sleeve length 15”

DIRECTIONS: Cast on 2 stitches. The entire shell is knit in garter stitch on the diagonal.

There are 4 panels. for the body and two sleeves.

Cast on 2 stitches with Poppy and knit them.

Increase 1 st and knit to end. repeat this row until there are 51 st(med)

Color order: * will indicate a stripe pattern on the fabric outside. There will otherwise be

a blended pattern .

Begin sides:

Row 1:Cast on 1 st at beginning of row and knit 2 tog at end.

Begin to decrease for the shoulder/Neckline. Knit 2 tog at the beginning of each row.

Flip the right front and left back panels bottom to top.

Sew shoulder seams.

Sleeves:

Pick up 55 st along the left back/right front where the Lettuce and Bittersweet end toward

the bottom of the panel. Pick up 1 st in each of 3 ribs and the 2 spaces between, skip the

next between. Repeat to the shoulder seam. Pick up 1 stitch at the seam and pick up 55 st

along th e front using the same spacing as on the back.

Sew the underarm seams together leaving a 12’’ opening at the sides. Sew the back and

front seams leaving a 4” opening at the neck front.

Finishing: Make 1 row single crochet around the sleeve and side openings, along the

front edges and along the neck back. Make fewer sc along the neck edge to shape it. Make

3,chain 1, buttonholes along the neck opening. Make a 2nd row of sc in reverse into all

row 1 sc. Begin by going into the previous loop, making a sc and continuing to the end.

Weave in all ends.
