This kimono is knit sideways from sleeve to sleeve. Use all three yarns together as one.
DIRECTIONS: Back: Cast on 28 st. Knit one row.
Unit 1: Row 1. k3, increase 1, k to end of row.
Row 2. k.
Row 3. k3, increase 1, k to end of row.
Row 4. k.
Row 5. k.
Unit 1-5 more times.
Unit 1 rows 1 through 4
Row 5. k to end. Cast on 20 stitches.(62 st)
Row 6. k.
Unit1-5X (72 st). Mark shoulder.
Knit 28 rows (14 ribs). Mark shoulder.
Unit 2: Row 1: k.
Row 2: k.
Row 3: k 3, k 2 together, k to end of row.
Row 4: k
Row 5: k 3, k 2 together, k to end of row.
Row 6: k
Unit 2-4 more times (62 stitches).
Row 1: k
Row 2: Cast off 20 stitches, k to end of row.
Continue with Unit 2 rows 3 through 6.
Unit 2-6 more times.(28 st).
Knit 1 row. Cast off.
Front: (Make 2). Knit the same as the back to the shoulder mark.
Mark shoulder and knit 8 rows in garter stitch.
Next row: Cast off 12 st, k to end.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: Cast off 3 st, k to end.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: Cast off 2 st, k to end.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: Cast off.
Joining: With the crochet hook slip stitch the sleeve and underarm seams together leaving a 5”
opening at the sides.
Front band: With the confetti and the cotton/rayon/metallic yarn HDC 5 rows along the front
and neck edge. Make 5 rows of HDC around the sleeve edges. Weave in all ends. I tie a knot before
cutting off the excess to secure it.
In this size there is enough yarn left over to make the STARBRIGHT CAMISOLE.
